Short CE modules beat long webinars for me?

Unpopular opinion (polite): I skip two-hour CE webinars and do 15-minute Relias quiz modules on my phone instead, because the intros and small talk kinda make me annoyed. I still make sure they’re CNA-approved for my state, download the certificates as PDFs, and toss them into a dated Google Drive folder so renewal is clean. Most days I knock one out on my 2 pm break with coffee, and if I’ve got energy I do another right before bed. If live webinars actually give you value I’m missing—discussion. Q&A, whatever—push back and tell me what you get there that the short modules don’t. otherwise.

Yep, short CE modules beat webinars for me. I knock out two on my phone during lunch and get back to work. I file the PDFs in Drive at the end of the week. Relias counted fine for my state. last audit was smooth.

I keep a tiny Google Sheet with date, module name, and minutes so I can spot gaps for required topics before renewal. I also rename each PDF like 2025-03-12_FallPrevention_0.25CE and set a 15-min ‘CE sprint’ timer on my phone at 2:05 so I do it, lol. Do you track hours anywhere or just trust the Relias total.

Relias on my phone during my 2 pm break beats any two‑hour webinar. I just rename each PDF with date_minutes_stateID (e.g., 2025-03-12_0.25CE_CA-12345) before dropping it in Drive, makes renewal painless .

I’m with @vhoward on tracking — I add tags/labels to each certificate in Drive by required topic (falls, dementia, infection control) and set a monthly calendar block to batch it, which makes renewals feel like flossing for my license. Curious if your state uses CE Broker for auto‑reporting.

Same here on short modules; one tweak: once a quarter I export the Relias Transcript PDF and toss it with the certs so any audit is two clicks, and @lbarnes’s tracking idea pairs nicely with that. Small caveat: some states want a bit of “live/in‑service,” so I snap a photo of those sign-off sheets and park them in the same folder — belt-and-suspenders.
