Pocket gear that survives double shifts

But what pocket gear is worth carrying through a 12-hour night — gait belt, penlight, shears, watch — without breaking or adding a brick to your hip? I’m on a 36-bed LTC floor and thinking about standardizing a minimal kit for our CNAs; if we rolled a shared load-out cart to each pod, where does this go next — does it speed turns or just create another thing to stock?

But i’d do a 3-on-body, rest-on-cart setup: penlight on a retractable reel, folding shears, and a second-hand watch; put a gait belt on a hook in each room so turns don’t depend. Pilot the ‘shared load-out cart’ on one pod for a week and tally trips back to it — if it starts feeling like Batman’s utility belt, it’s too much.
