It's Nursing, not Nurse

I still see ‘Certified Nurse Assistant’ on flyers, job posts, even a badge I was handed last Tuesday — it’s ‘Certified Nursing Assistant.’ Tiny difference, but it matters when HR and families think we’re licensed nurses.

When HR printed me a badge that said ‘Certified Nurse Assistant,’ I brought a screenshot of our state registry showing the official ‘nursing’ title and they reissued it that day. I’ll gently correct families too, though if someone’s upset I wait and circle back after the task’s done. Small caveat: some states list ‘nurse aide’ instead, so double-check your board’s wording.

It’s wild how often that happens! I once had a family thank me for being a ‘nurse’ when I was just a CNA — definitely gave me a chuckle. I always make sure to clarify my title, especially when it comes to paperwork; it can make a huge difference down the line. @amanda_hall23 nailed it with that registry screenshot tip.
