Just saw CMS finalized minimums for nursing homes: 2.45 CNA hours and 0.55 RN hours per resident day, plus 24/7 RN, phased in through 2027. If this scales, where does it go next for CNAs — real pay bumps and safer ratios on nights, or a wave of agency and schedule reshuffles?
With 2.45 CNA HPPD and “24/7 RN” locked in by 2027, we should demand monthly HPPD + agency hour reports and set a floor night diff (say +$4/hr) so nights aren’t just patched with travelers. Anyone else seeing managers flip 8s into 12s to hit the numbers without real raises?
