I’ve been using a gait belt for patient transfers, and it’s made such a difference in my confidence and safety during shifts. I’d love to hear what tools you all rely on for helping patients move comfortably — anything you find essential or particularly effective?
I totally relate to how a gait belt can boost your confidence during transfers. I’ve found a slide sheet to be incredibly helpful as well, especially when moving heavier patients; it makes a big difference in reducing strain. Have you tried using one alongside the belt?
Gait belts are definitely a game changer! I’ve also found that using a standing lift can be invaluable for some patients, making transfers less strenuous on both sides. Have you considered trying that for those heavier transfers?
